Had a fun night.

I would like to start out by thaking everyone for leaving comments about the hands i've posted. I really appreciate all the help and advice that people have offered.... oh wait, Nobody has said a bloody thing, you wankers!

I feel like this when you guys don't post comments :(

Well I'm going to keep posting hands until i start getting so much feed back that I become the best cash player alive and then i'll just post hands to brag about how good I am.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2206405 - This hand I missed alot of value on the river because he was probably calling. Unfortunately the session was still new enough I didn't completely grasp how ridiculous this guy was. He played 81/9/0.3 over 300 hands. How sick is that? haha.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2206566 - Again the same guy, and I know not to bet because he calls with any pair and he doens't fold so no point trying to push the biggest station off any hand. Just wait till I hit then punish away. Voila.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2206567 - The min raise was strictly out of boredom. I have just had some sick table selection lately :) I get a bit tricky followed by a big lucky. No clue how this guy called 3 barrels of strength.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2206633 - No joke this is how good this guy plays :) Atta boy. Get all that money in there when you're ahead.... hahah LMFAO.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2206647 - Same donk as usual. Me punishing him yet again. I was a bit worried I built too big of a pot with a marginal hand, but then I realized i'm playing Corkey from Life Goes On.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2206653 - How should I be playing this hand. Checking the flop & Leading the turn? Check Raising the flop?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2206721 - Well looks like I got lucky here. The problem with playing this guy is he almost never raises any hands (including flopped sets) on any street no matter what. It's really like you just play your own hand strength and have no read on him what so ever. Not that you need a read when someone is this bad.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2206945 - Was a bit confused about what to do here. For the most part if I shove I only get called by better hands. I think there is a good chance he has a FD on the turn but also I can't rule out a set. When he checks the river it's likely i'm ahead but for some reason i got it in my head that he could easily have had a Flush draw with a queen. I dunno. I'm dumb. This hand was just wierd.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2207146 - Sick call. I'm never full out bluffing here. At worst I have an 8 out draw or a J. I almost never bet /3 bet shove with less then top pair or a strong draw. Bad call by him? Or maybe i'm just that transparent.

IMPORTANT HAND. MUST GET ADVICE OR DIE!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2207217 - Does anyone ever triple barrel bluff on this board? If they do they are effing insane and deserve the pot. Villain took along time on the river to bet.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?2207282 - This my friends was my favourite snap call of the night.

And that is all for hands.

I would request that people who read hand histories let me know if they prefer the HTML versions posted in the blog, or the poker hand link versions? I'm going to keep asking this question (Like I have 5 times before) until I get an answer. :)

Overall it was a very swingy session until i got settled. I bluffed too much early and lost 2.5 buy ins before making a strong come back and finishing up about a buy in.

Played 500ish hands of 2 tables only. Long night of pokering.

Tonight i'm going to try to get some chores done around the house before I do anything else. We'll see if i can stick to that.

A quick poker update.

I made another small deposit (300$) on Party last night.

I really want to get back into making some good money like i was 2 or 3 months ago. (good money as in a nice side income of 500-1000$/month, that goes towards paying off school debt and stuff.

I started playing 50max (4 tables). That didn't go well because I played poorly for awhile. Then got a bit annoyed and sat with 100$ at 2/4NL with a bunch of other shorties, played well for awhile then make a poor call when a guy kepts betting 12$ on all streets when i had 2nd pair and a gutter ball. I knew i was beat on the river but 12$ into an almost 90$ pot I am forced to call.

I think got it all in with QQ and lost to KK so that was a bit demoralizing but I didn't sweat it too much. I sat at some 25max tables and lost a bit. I had about 85$ left and sat with 50$ at one 100NL 6max table. I concentrated extremely well and got a feel for all the opponents. I also got lucky in choosing the best table on party probably. A few 30-35 VPIP players and one guy who was playing 70/20 with an AF of 0.9. He limp called almost all the time and I had position on him being 2 to his left. The best part was a really solid player sat in between us so I was able to abuse him alot as well. Alot of hands went down like the following. The bad player limps, The good player raised and i'd call with a wider range then normal due to the fact that the bad player was calling for sure. The bad player would check, the good player would check if he missed and i'd fire most of the time and pick up the pot. I usually only fired a bet on the flop if i hit though because the bad player called with any pair, any high cards(even if he missed) any draw, including gutter balls and back door gutter balls haha. I was fortunately to be patient enough to wait for solid hands and all but 1 or 2 hands i maximized my expectation vs the bad player. I also was fortunate enough to have the donk winning a ton off the rest of the table allowing me to win alot from him. The AA hand was vs him and I was pretty worried about getting drawn out on for a monster pot so i made a bit larget bet then I probably should have on the turn.

I ended up with about 420$ on the table when I quit. It was a very fun session and I hope I can find this guy in the future. I am probably only going to play 1 table for awhile now (maybe 2) because I am really enjoying focusing in on the opponents and trying to pick up their specific patterns and abusing them. Multi tabling isn't very enjoyable right now so i'm just not gonna do it.

I'm gonna keep playing 100NL 6max and hope I can play well and get a nice roll together again. I have found I focus the best at this level.

Wish me luck you degenerates.

Over my last 10k hands im @ just over 4.5 PT BB/100. Which is fairly nice.

How do I play this.

Villain 1 (Min Raiser) is 70/20/100 0.9AF. He is beyond horrible. What line is most optimal here?

I
think i played this hand optimally. I really wanted to raise the turn but figured if he was bluffing it's a dumb move cause I want him to keep bluffing, and if he's not he's calling a shove because he hasn't folded much with even weak hands.

I PLAYED POKER LAST NIGHT!

Woo hoo :)

Played a few hundred hands of HU 50max and 100 max with a 100$ deposit I made.

I got it down to 20$ at one point but I was playing really well, being very patient and making a really good # of 3 bets and making excellent decisions on the Turn which is a very important thing to do play HU well. Although I think in HU poker the River is where the most important decisions are made. Where a 6-9 handed table the turn is definitely the most important.

I ended up busting my small deposit when i had JJ. I was starting to write up the hand cause I thought it was pretty intersting however I have some of the details wrong so I'll wait and post it from PT later today.

It's got a few things in it that I need to work on. Plus I think I played the hand pretty badly in my final decision. I played on Stars and was actually pretty suprised at how dumb the 50 max HU players are. Not that they are bad players, but they sit with 200-400$ on a 50$ max buy in table. Unless you know you are a nice favourite too them your not almost ever going to get alot of action on these tables because people are so often going to be "scared" and you're probably only more likely to draw competition from people that are better then you. You also are risking all of those buy ins to win 1 buy from an opponent while giving him a shot at winning 5-6 buy ins from you. Which to me is idiotic.

I have some other good hands to post. It felt good to play. I stayed very calm throughout my session and would love to get playing the HU tables on FTP again. Lets home Gravastar got his funds online so I can get my stake on :)

WARNINIG: POKER CONTENT!

Just not me playing it :)

Battle of the Blogger Tournaments 3

I have been a blogger for almost 3 years i'd say, under various blog links however I have never once played in a blogger tournament since it's inception.

That is all about to change. I will be doing my darndest to play in as many blogger events for the BBT as humanly possible. I will also probably be taking down several first places as well as a live package or two :) So you amatures best beware (Yes the first time i spelled this Be wear) haha. When my donkament game is on point i'm pretty fierce. The difficulty is getting me motivated. :) I'm a big proponent of competition and having a website that tracks everyone and is updated every tournament will be just the thing to get my blood flowing.

Here is a link with all the info for you fish care of Al Cant Hang.

I'm reading Freakonomics right now, and at some point this weekend i'm going to do my best to write up a post about how frustrated I am with people that are not willing to show two sides of a story when writing books, as well as not giving me any hard evidence to back up their statments.

So stay tuned for that.

Didn't make it out bowling last night with a few friends because well, everyone bailed because people have been working a sick amount. A few of my friends at work have put in over 70 hours from Sunday to Thurdsday and they havn't had a day off in weeks. It's pretty disgusting. My company just grinds people into the ground. Not out of desire to ruin their lives but mostly out of need due to our lack of engineering staff. I've slid through with normal hours this week but i'm going to have to pick that up come today and tommorow and start working some big hours to help my boys out.

Skipping ahead to day 6. - Updated

Day 6 Trip Report.

Days 4-5 were fiarly uneventful besides me pwning my friend at tennis so we can skip right ahead to the most intersting day of our trip.

We booked our Jungle Jeep Safari for the Wednesday. We were asked to be ready by 9:30am to leave. The Jeep Safari basically consists of being driven around to several different locations out in the countryside as well as a few more remote cool spots with lunch included as well as all you can drink on the Jeep/Bus.

We arrived close to 9:15 and sat around waiting for awhile until all the Bus showed up. The "Jeeps" hold about 18 people on them. They are basically open bed medium side buses with a roll cage in the back with semi comfy bench seats. Ours finally arrived and we were off closer to 10am which was a bit meh, but still no biggie.

There was one very cool thing about our specific tour and a few really annoying things about our tour. Our guide spoke perfect english with minimal accent. He was pretty awesome to have. Very clever, witty and charming individual. We was an excellent story teller. He had done a Foreign Exchange at University of Wisconsin(or Missouri) for a year.

He made the trip very entertaining for everyone. I wish I could say the same about the rest of folks on our trip. We basically got stuck in the "old timers" bus. So its 5 mid to late twenties people and about 10 people 50 and over (a few in their 70s) and 2 people in their later 30s. I have always found something odd when observing "old people" drinking. They become so useless and fucking annoying that I can barely stand to be in the same room as them. Or in this case bus.

Our friend Krys is fairly well know through out the world for getting pretty bombed and being by far the most annoying person around when intoxicated. The scary part about this trip is he was the 6th most annoying person on the bus. (Yes we counted). At one point one of the old men decided it would be a good idea to stick his finger in some kids face and push his forehead while we were stopped somewhere. There were about Ten 12 year old kids, and maybe 6 or 7 Dominican adults. I thought for sure this was going to provoke someone and it did a few of the kids but I think the rest of the kids kept them from retaliating and taking this situation even further. Having the kid not react to this old fucker only encouraged him to keep doing it to the kid. All in all he acted like a fucking 6 year old and I really wanted to smack him in the fucking face.

Anyways, If i keep going on about this i'll be typing all day. Lets just say that the 5 really annoying people on our bus were beyond annoying and always had "hilarious" comments that made no sense and were fairly degrading to dominican people in general and we had to listen to this for almsot 8 hours. BOooo..

Luckily for them we still had a great time otherwise I would have been flipping out on them.

So back to the trip.

We started off going through the city of San Juan pretty breifly. it was neat to see it in the day light because on our way to the resort we went through it at night. After that we went up into the country side and made our first stop at the top of a big hill with a really nice view of the country side and the ocean. Here we were met by a group of children that knew the bus stopped here and there would be candy given out for them. We walked from there up to their little run down village where there was an obviously out of place table setup that had tons of school supplies and candy on it. Seeing something new(Table and supplies) in the midst of such deploring living conditions just seemed strange. Also the woman selling them had a fat stack of American 20s in her hand. haha. And these people were just sitting around in their door ways with garbage everywhere and pretty much living in squallor.

We moved on from here to a Local school house where we were given 5 minutes to go in and visit with the kids and give them some school supplies and candy. Some of the kinds were pretty cute. A few that wern't in school were rather greedy/grabby and I didn't really enjoying giving them anymore stuff so we saved it for the kids that were pleasant and appreciative.

So after a few pics in the one room school house we were off again and walked down the street to a local residents house where we were given a tour and then got some fresh fruit snacks. Apparently nobody heeds the warnings about eating pre cut fruits and raw veggies in because pretty much everyone (except me) mowed down the foods. oh well. I guess they don't mind a little Hepatitis in their diet :P.

The house had a few very cute little puppies running around that we got to play with a bit as well. It was here that we got some more info about the farmers and their employees way of life and how things work out in the country. (very different from the city)

Finished later. I need to work right now...

Heres the rest:

After this we treked down to a building that was built by what appears to be the tour company as a lunch spot. It's a pretty nice thatch roofed building where they were selling all the uselss crap you see everywhere all over the caribean including the 2 million paintings that are always for sale.

lunch was very good, consisting of some rice veggie mix, carrots, delicious chicken, probably the best pasta i had all trip and a few other things. It was really quite excellent.

From lunch we went to a nice beach (unsure of the name). We stayed for about an hour and swam in the really nice warm ocean. The wind was pretty crazy bowling sand against your legs as you walked on the beach. It actually felt like someone was pricking you with really fine pins the whole time. The pic of this spot was of me with krys over my shoulder about to body slam him into the ocean.

This TR gets less and less detailed the longer i wait to finish it. haha. Soon it will consist of. Day 1 thru 8, went to Dominican. END.

Anways, after the ocean we went to the fresh water lagoo. 90% fresh, 10% salt water. It was really awesome. Thats the pic of me jumping off the cliff. You can see sooo far down into the water. It was really cool. Except when I got stabbed by a rusty metal wire while climbing out. I hope I don't get Tetnis. :) haha. that would suck. I don't enjoy dying a slow and painful death.

Their was also a rope for swining off of and dropping into the water. It was semi dangerous to even grab onto the rope as you had to climb up some stairs and then climb up onto the railing just to grab it. I obv did so and did a crappy drop into the water.

This was our 2nd last stop on the tour. Our last stop was the Waterfall where local kids jump into 10ft of water from about 50 feet. They only jumped for about 5 minutes while we all took pics and stuff and then they come around after asking for tips. This was a cool way to end the trip cause it was pretty crazy, some of the kinds were doing cool maneuvers in the air.

From here we had a very long annoying ride home having to listen to all of the previously mentioned "drunk old people". At this point almost all of them are belligerent and just completely sauced. They won't shut up, they complain about everything, and they all think they are hilarious. Maybe infact they were funny and just us 5 "young folk" were the ones that had it all backwards.....then again, maybe not. :D

We all went for dinner that night then went out to party it up, we ended up having a great night (best of the trip) and really just got bombed and had fun at the bar.

Last day: We got up did the breakfast thing, then went horse back riding on the beach. it turns out dominicans don't take care of their animals very well and we had too all ride undersized, under nourished donkey looking animals. They were infact horses but really not quite the sizes we are used to in North America. The first half of the ride was horrible. 5 horses on a 6ft wide trail with barbed wire on one side and a cliff on the other adn they are all jockying for position. A few times the horses would bite another horses neck. Once we made our turn to come back we moved onto the beach and all the horses split up and went at their own pace which made the ride back considerably more enjoyable and relaxing. (especially with a minor hang over).

After this we showered and checked out of our rooms by 12pm, then went and chilled by the pool all day. Well thats what everyone else did. I went and played beach volleyball for probably 4 hours. It was really fun, met some cool people. We did that for most of the rest of the day. About 5:00 we all got showered at the comminity showers and get preped for our bus ride to the air port.

i won't go into too much detail about our trip home because it will just be me complaining for a few paragraphs :)

We ended up getting back to London about 5am, Unfortunately for me I woke up at 8am and was bored out of my mind for pretty much the next 3 days.

Today (Monday Feb 26th) is the first day i've really felt good coming back to work and actually getting something accomplished.

Thats good for now.

Poker will be starting back up in 3-4 days I believe. I'm goign to start back at the 25NL and 50NL levels and try to grind for a month and see where i'm at after that.

Peace

Don't worry you heathens.

Poker contect coming soon. And if I stop being such a lazy degenerate I'll finish my trip report from the Dominican....If your lucky.
